A CRITICAL ANALYSIS AND LESSON LEARNT FROM MOST MEMORABLE, BEST AND AMAZING MOMENTS OF ALL 3 PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE OF DONALD AND HILLARY

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Discussion on Trade

1. He was at his best in talking about trade, as he tried to tar Clinton with NAFTA, the massive trade agreement forged under her husband’s watch, and the Trans Pacific Partnership, which was negotiated when she was Secretary of State, yet she later opposed. But she deftly was able to move the conversation to other topics.

Tax Returns

2. Hillary pressed Donald on not releasing his tax returns. She noted that the 'only years that anybody’s ever seen were a couple of years when he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license and they showed he didn’t pay any federal income tax.' Trump replied, 'That makes me smart.'

Using Cheap and Undocumented Labor

3. Clinton goes after Donald for using cheap, undocumented labor. She also attacked Trump for exploiting immigration laws in his own business. 'Donald knows a lot about this,' she said. 'He used undocumented labor to build the Trump Tower. He underpaid undocumented workers and when they complained, he basically said what a lot of employers do. You complain, I’ll get you deported. I want to get everybody out of the shadows, get the economy working and not let employers like Donald exploit undocumented workers, which hurts them and also hurts American workers.

Private Email

4. Trump tried to turn the tables and press Clinton on the use of a private email server. She admitted that it was a 'mistake'. But Donald strongly replied that it was not a mistake, much more that that. It had purpose. This country thinks it’s disgraceful. .

Temperament and Stamina

5. Donald said 'I have a winning temperament. I know how to win. She does not know how to win,' He also said that Hillary didn’t have the 'look to be president'and she didn’t have the 'stamina' also. He believed and said that he had 'much better temperament' than Hillary.

Reply of Hillary

6. “As soon as he travels to 112 countries and negotiates a peace deal, a cease fire, a release of dissidents, an opening of new opportunities in nations around the world, or even spends 11 hours testifying in front of a Congressional committee, he can talk to me about stamina,” she said.

Assault Allegations

7. Trump says all the assault allegations against him are Clinton’s doing. Trump was pushed on the string of women and to accuse Trump of sexual assault or other unwanted contact. Trump tossed it aside and put all the blame at Clinton’s feet. He said that they were all totally false—it was all fiction. It was lies and it was fiction.

Donald's Unhealthy Comment

8. Trump said on Clinton - 'Such a Nasty Woman'. Near the end of the debate, Hillary Clinton was explaining that she wants to protect social security by raising payroll taxes on the wealthy. She quipped that Trump might try to get out of paying more payroll taxes referring to widespread reporting that Trump may not have paid federal income taxes for nearly two decades by using tax loopholes. As Hillary Clinton spoke, Donald Trump leaned into his microphone and said, 'Such A Nasty Woman'.

Donald's Remarks

9. I said very tough things to her, and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her,' he said. But you want to know the truth. I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and I said to myself, ‘I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice.' He then complained that Hikkary's campaign had spent millions on negative ads about him and 'it’s not nice and I don’t deserve that.” He said.

A CRITICAL ANALYSIS

Trumps Character

10. Unfortunately Trumps character, verifiable lying, indisputable cheating, on the record stealing and in the end acting like a hurt little puppy just makes him far more vulnerable to that. 'I’m smart' for not paying any taxes, 'I’m a good business man' for hoping that the housing market will fail so I can grab the spoils, sounds like his plan for foreign affairs, 'to the victor go the spoils,' and I pay my legal bills, buy personal gifts or myself and have my portrait painted from the funds of a 'charitable foundation' that I never pay into. If there is even any shadow of a doubt left in anyone's mind what a con man this guy is then there is nothing that can be said or done. He needs help but not the kind you think he does.

Vicious Moments

11. Beyond Donald's stunning comments about the election results, the debate featured many noteworthy and vicious moments. Trump hurled insults at Hillary, at one point calling her a 'nasty woman' which was otherwise looking odd. However Hillary was calm and well prepared as always, peppered her answers with attacks on Donald's record, such as his use of Chinese steel to build his hotel in Las Vegas. As MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell noted after the debate, there were 'just so many things to be astounded by.'

Domination

12. Donald Trump dominated in all debates but that is not necessarily a good thing for him - People commented on social media. However Hillary put her on defensive, often looking pleased with herself for bringing up his inheritance and a discrimination lawsuit.

Who is the Winner?

13. It's impossible to overstate how big a favorite the former secretary of state was in both her primary fight and the general election matchup against Donald Trump. She was the biggest non incumbent front runner for the White House in modern political history. And yet, from the start, it was clear that Clinton's appeal on paper didn't match her appeal in the real world of political campaigning.

Why Hillary Could not Win?

14. Hillary lost because she was overly cautious. Because she was slow to adjust to a changed race In the primary and the general election. Because she never really connected with voters. Because she offered no positive message that resonated with those voters. Because she never grasped the import to her candidacy of the email story.

LESSON LEARNT

Target Your Ideal Audience

15. Refine your audience and make sure you’re marketing to them. Some people are just never going to vote for a certain party. That’s why you’ll never find Donald campaigning hard in Maine or New Hampshire. It’s also why you’ll never find Hillary campaigning hard in Texas and Alabama. These states are not where their target audiences are. You’ll always find Trump campaigning with his ideal audience, which happens to be white males without a college degree, and they represent nearly half of all white voters. You’ll also find Clinton campaigning with her ideal audience, which happens to be women and minorities. This is something businesses can learn from.

Social Media Can Be A Killer

16. Donald has learned a lot from social media during the presidential race. He’s learned that it can be a real killer when you don’t know how to use it correctly. Although both candidates have had success in speaking to their supporters through social media, more than once Donald has put his foot in his mouth and damaged his own campaign due to what he posted on Twitter.

Simple Works Best

17. Simplicity always works best for appealing to a mass market. You can’t expect to succeed if you have a complex message that requires a lot of in depth thought. The way around this is to opt for a simple message that resonates within the mind.

Email Marketing

18. Email marketing has played a massive part in both campaigns at this election. Clinton has excelled in her use of email to get her Democrat supporters on board. She has produced emails with subject lines that utilize an information gap. This information gap purposely doesn’t tell the whole story so that people are intrigued enough to click on the email.

Know Your Niche

19. The main lesson we can learn is that by knowing our niche, our message instantly becomes more powerful. Trying to appeal to everyone is fruitless and will only cause to water our message down.
