Williams Shakespeare is definitely and undoubtedly one of the most inspirational playwrights the world has ever seen. His poetic words and writings cut through time and space and continue to inspire generations after him. His plays, sonnets and quotes hold valuable wisdom that is still very applicable in modern day society. They hold practical meanings and truths that people across various culture can relate to, identify with and apply. Below are some inspirational life lessons taught by Williams Shakespeare:

“Nothing will come of nothing”

1. Your success is largely dependent on what you create it to be by the actions you take. This quote is particularly true as it explains that no accomplishment can ever be attained without taking deliberate action. Most people live and breeze through life terrified by thoughts of stepping out of their comfort zone. If you want to turn your life around, you have to take action. Because nothing will come of nothing unless you do something. In order to be successful, do something about it. It’s as simple as it is. If you don’t try things, work hard, or take risks, no success or even failure will come your way. Our human purpose here is to take action and do things. This is absolutely vital to living a full life.

“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so”

2. How many times have you gone over a scenario in your head, thinking about the best and worst possible outcomes? It's better to stop overthinking. If you think too much about something, it suddenly sets your expectations way too high or way too low. And as it turns out, it’s sometimes better to just let things happen. Overthinking is going to do nothing but drive you crazy, and no one wants to go down.

“Wisely and slow, they stumble that run fast”

3. Slow and steady win the race. Take your time. Pretty simple, spend your time concentrating on something that you’re good at, not rushing to find an answer. Patience is widely considered to be a cardinal virtue. Probably the most important trait for long term success. But sadly, we live in a microwave generation where people are quick to give up on their dreams after trying few times without seeing the results. Success takes time. Slow and steady wins the race. Be patient and take your steps one at a time. There is a tendency for us to rush into things because we are worried something better won’t come along, but it is important to realize that making a rash decision may just slow you down in the long run. Our society is obsessed with a fast paced lifestyle, this isn’t the best thing. This lifestyle encourages the opposite of what we really want, by taking away quality and putting an emphasis on quantity only. It’s important to step back and remind yourself: Rome wasn’t built in a day.

“The Miserable Have no other Medicine but Hope”

4. Having hope and faith that everything is going to be fine is vital. The only way to cure oneself of something bad that happens is to have hope that it will be better. Life isn’t just about going through the mundane cycle, it’s about having achieving little goals here and there, and having faith that your existence and place on this earth means something. Life will test you to either bring out the best or worse in you. Either way, it’s up to you. No matter how solid your reasons are for quitting. You owe it to yourself to keep going and to see the journey through to the end. You might not see the end of the tunnel, but you have to keep faith and hope alive that everything will eventually turn out right. Life can sometimes be unfortunate. You may be trying very hard and it might seem your dreams are impossible. But you must realize that failure and mistakes are only pathways to success.

“The Devil Can Cite Scripture For his purpose”

5. There are people who are manipulative sorts, unfortunately. Going along with that untrustworthy friend, you might come across manipulation. There is a stronger possibility of getting manipulated by the people about whom you are fully aware, because that’s how manipulative people can be. We have to cautious in who we place our trust in, because we don’t always know what their motives are.

“This above all: to thine own self be true”

6. One of the most important requisites for success is to have a firm knowledge of your identity. Build your self worth, embrace and allow your true personality unravel without compromise. Be true to yourself. Identify your strength as well as your weaknesses. Set up standards and hold fast to your moral beliefs. Put aside doctrines that don’t serve you and step away from fake lifestyles that don’t connote your character. Above all, give yourself the permission to be you.
