Amazing and Unparallel Life Lessons From Mark Zuckerberg

Amazing and Unparallel Life Lessons From Mark Zuckerberg

Huda Video

General

1. Mark Zuckerberg has become one of the most influential people in the world. As the founder of Facebook, he has forever made the world a smaller place. He has revolutionized in a manner in which we communicate. Before it was impossible for us to keep in contact with people from across the world. Now we have to log into your Facebook account and message those we want to get in contact with, no matter where they are. It's so simple.Today Mark Zuckerberg is world famous, one of the most successful Internet entrepreneurs and startup founders, and is worth around 35 billion dollars. He changed the way we communicate, make friends, share what’s on our mind and even market our businesses.

2. Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg defends the social platform as a 'Positive Force In The World' as he addresses Congress on Tuesday while admitting he made 'a big mistake' by not taking seriously the social network’s responsibility to its two billion users.

Facebook Platform

3. Facebook platform is a wonder in its own right for sure. Making such a solid and ubiquitous social network takes immense vision, farsightness, strategy, honesty, untegrity, trustworthiness, dedication and hardwork. It can do wonders for social good When it is used correctly. Facebook can help spreading knowledge initiative, voices get heard, expertize shared and noticed. It enables exchange of thoughts, ideas and opinions every single moment. That we let our general lack of nuance and inability to be measured on the internet come in the way of all the good the platform can do says more about us than the platform. For this reason alone, Mark Zuckerberg is an exceptional success story like no other. He has achieved what very few people have, by way of bringing together communities and voices of average, everyday citizens. It takes strong will, lighted vision, and most importantly, a lot of discipline to change the world the way Zuckerberg has.

A few lessons that I could garner from his schedule, lifestyle, and story is as follows:

Quick Decision Making

The world and its third cousin know that Zuckerberg wears the same outfit everyday. He doesn’t waste time on decisions that are not important to him. I don’t believe in the idea of wearing the same outfit every day and I know many others who like to dress well too. But the important lesson here is that based on your, or your organization and team’s priorities, there are some decisions that need a lot of thought – and some that don’t. The balance between thinking and brainstorming and getting things done and I find people crossing over to the wrong side very often. It is important that teams and managers understand how unnecessary pontificating comes in the way of time management. Analysis and brainstorming, when required, must also come with a deadline. If they go on endlessly, there is something broken in the system.

Taking Action is Important

A fall-out of endless analysis is that work remains undone. Often, you don’t need to have every last data point to take action on a project or decision. The result may not always be perfect, but at least you got started!

Facebook’s constantly tweaked interface, and new apps and features that get tested in real-time before getting discarded or becoming perfect, are all signs of Zuckerberg’s bias for action. As Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and one of the most respected forward-thinkers of our generation, puts it, “If you decide that you’re going to do only the things you know are going to work, you’re going to leave a lot of opportunity on the table.”

Success Can Plateau

It is easy to be so taken in by the kind of success great ideas can bring that you just revel in it and stop innovating. It has happened many times over, with sportspeople and musicians, film stars and technology innovators. But some of the best Silicon Valley founders and innovators have found a way to stay relevant even as their first big wins plateaued. Bill Gates had his heart in philanthropy; Bezos is a funder of ideas that are changing the world as we know it, including names like Airbnb and Uber. Zuckerberg too constantly ensures that Facebook doesn’t plateau like most other social networks did. From democratizing Internet access to countering the fake news epidemic and helping small businesses grab eyeballs with Facebook’s constantly evolving ad platform, the network constantly proves that it is much more than a place for travel pictures and restaurant check-ins.

Here are few more imp life lessons we can learn from Mark Zuckerberg:

1. Don't Let Anyone Tell The Story of You.

The biggest trap that people fall into in this world is that they allow themselves to fall into a cycle of bad habits. They allow the outside world to influence their actions and in the end, they actually end up working for someone rather than being their own individual. It is crucial that you set yourself apart from those around you.

2. There is No Excuse For Non-Commitment.

Remember that in business there are no friends, just business partners. You want to develop your product and show it in the best light possible. If you have someone dragging their feet or bringing the company down then it is your responsibility to cut them out. You may have been best friends since the time you were born, but in this business world no one cares about friendships, it's all about your ability to produce. Unfortunately this is the truth and no one wants to be responsible for dead weight.

3. Don't Be Fazed By The Opinions Of Those Around You.

People will not, generally, understand the depth and complexity of your ideas. This is especially true when you get involved in creating new products that many haven't even heard of or can't conceptualize. You must realize that people don't see your idea the way you do. You can try to explain it to them as best as you can, but at the end of the day their perspective is not as clear as yours. On top of all this, many feel that since they have gone through the experience and failed that no one else can do it. They feel that they know the right path to success and those choosing a different path are just weird. Don't let these people get you down, at the end of the day it's your word versus theirs.

4. You Are Only As Strong As The Team Around You.

No one can do it on their own. It is nearly impossible to begin a project of such a massive scale and manage it all by yourself. This is why it is imperative that you build a strong team around you. The best way to do this is by hiring people as smart or smarter than you. Don't be intimidated by working with people who are as smart or smarter than you. It is truly the only way that one can make their product better. You want people around you who can challenge your idea in a thought-provoking manner. This doesn't mean that you want people who are going to shut down your ideas. Rather people who will help you develop your ideas by finding faults in them. It is your ability to find the faults in your ideas and build them that will bring about great success in your endeavors.

5. Be The CEO.

While it is crucial that you listen to those around you in order to make your idea as fool proof as possible, at the end of the day, the decision is yours. You are the CEO, so you must act like it. People around you need to know that when it's decision time, your word is final, if it weren't, you wouldn't be CEO. Also it is imperative that as CEO, you are a personification of your company; therefore, you must act appropriately because everything you do is a representation of what your company stands for.

6. Leadership Quality.

Leadership Quality that will bring the best out of the people around you. As CEO, you are the leader and everyone around you will look to you for guidance when things get rough. It is crucial that you keep your composure at the toughest of times. Your biggest role as CEO is to get everyone around you to believe in one common goal. Your job is halfway done if you can convince those around you that they should work just as hard as you for a unified purpose.

7. Do What You're Passionate About.

He believes that everyone has the entrepreneurial spirit inside them, they just need to find what they’re passionate about, work hard on it and create the ideal lifestyle while making the world a better place with their product. If you want to live life and love it a lot, you're going to have to do something that you're passionate about. There is nothing that will motivate you more than working for something that you are passionate about. If you can find the thing that makes you work hard and actually doesn't make you miserable while doing it, then you have found the golden key to life. It is true when they say if you work on what you love, you never have to work a day in your life. Find your passion and stick to it.

8. Have a Big Dream and Be Ambitious.

Start small but think big and be ready to sacrifice anything to make your dream business a success. Build something that makes a really big positive change in the world and will impact many generations to come. Dream big dreams. Improve the lives of people and bring them together. Know what you want to achieve and formulate guiding principles.

9. Break Boundaries and Venture Daringly and Rapidly.

Dare to change the world and make your great breakthrough service available all over the globe. Take risks. Break boundaries and don’t set limits on yourself and your business. Accomplish the improbable and break people’s perceptions of what’s possible.

10. Do the Most Important Thing You Could Be Doing.

Ask yourself every day this question, ‘Am I doing the most important thing I could be doing?’ You shouldn’t feel good about how you’re spending your time unless you feel like you’re working on the most important problem that you can help with.

11. Do Your Best, Work Smart and Hard.

Do everything possible to make your dream turn to reality. Work very hard to achieve what you want – there can be no success without hard work. Be ready to make many sacrifices on the way to your dream.

12. Have Faith in Yourself and Stay Focused.

Never have doubts about your abilities and don’t ever let anyone fill you with negativity. Regardless of anything, remain relentlessly focused on managing and improving your business. Have believe in what you are doing. Remain strong in the face of adversity and mindful of the hazards. Believe in your ability to maneuver around any challenge that comes your way. Use criticism as a stepping stone to improve what you are working on. Write a thank you note every day. Keep your head in the game and persevere. Your dedication will propel you into a successful businessman.

13. Be Flexible and Willing to Change.

Don’t be burdened by what other products are like or what you said about the same thing earlier. Look at your product or business every time with fresh eyes and look for improvements, opportunities or radical innovation.

14. Stand Up To Pressure.

As an entrepreneur, you must have both a great vision and great courage to stand up to the pressures, both internal and external. Your ability to stand up to pressure will help you stay on course and never steer away from your vision and goals.

15. Stop Perfecting, Finish.

Finishing something is paramount. It is more important that perfection. 'Done is better than perfect,' said Mark Zuckerberg. Doing your best is what counts, yet no one is perfect. If you finish something, you can always go back and improve on it.

16. Stay Humble.

Even if you became a billionaire, don’t refocus on buying fancy things, expensive cars and luxury mansions. Instead, focus on growing your company and live close to its campus. 'Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life,' says Mark Zuckerberg.

There are much more very imp life lessons which I intend to share in the forthcoming days so that all can reap the benefit out of that.
