BD Army Informed PM About Two Projects

Bangladesh Army Special Work Organization on Thursday apprises Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina about the design and progress of two projects being implemented by them. One of the projects is Treasury that is being constructed to preserve the gifts and mementos received by the President, PM and other VVIPs of the country during their foreign visits.



The PM at her Tejgaon office witnessed a powerpoint presentation on the Treasury being built near Novotheatre and Army Museum - Dhaka. The PM also witnessed the design of canals being implemented by the BD Army on both sides of the 300 foot road at Purbachal area. After the presentations, the PM gave necessary directives to the authorities concerned. She asked them to complete construction works of the treasury keeping in mind the issue of moisture and risk of fire.

After the presentations, PM's press secretary in his briefing said the PM expressed satisfaction at the progress of the works and gave some directives and suggestions. Army Chief General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Haque,ndc,psc gave the welcome address highlighting various features of the Treasury.

The treasury should be constructed in such a way that moisture could not cause any harm to the mementos and gifts, she said adding that the treasury must have necessary fire extinguishing equipment. 


Sheikh Hasina recalled that she first heard about the treasury from Bangabandhu during family discussion and Bangabandhu had enacted a law in this regard. About her experience on treasury, the PM said, she visited such establishments in different countries including Indonesia and Malaysia and they were maintaining the treasury in a standard manner.
